~Thrifty Shades of Runway:
Native New Yorker’s guide to fashion, bargains, supporting social causes and the best form of recycling!
We will begin with no frills shops and work our way to upscale.
You will explore 4-6 shops all within less than a 20 block radius. Charities supported include advocacy for people with disabilities, aids awareness, and the opera among others. These shops range in cost from $1.00 to hundreds of dollars. I pride myself on never paying over $40 for any single item.
As a true New Yorker I don’t give away my secrets freely. I’ll share 1 destination here, the rest you have to trust me on.

Salvation Army Family Store Chelsea
Located a block away from Murray’s Bagels is the fabulous local Salvation Army.
Grab your hand sanitizer and dive right in, taking your sweet time to find phenomenal treasuresin a sea of second hand mediocrity. Also look at the artwork, jewelry and knickknacks for some amazing discoveries to take back home. Make sure you have a back pack or reliable small bag on wheels. There’s also UPS shipping facilities in the area for that must have bulky purchase.

ACTUAL FINDS! All IN PRISTINE CONDITION Paid between $4-$40 each
A shoppers high never gets old just like my love for New York City.
A blend of history, progress, diversity, creativity all expressed on the streets and
in the local resale shops which to me are like living cultural museums.
